Acknowledgement

The Truth about Addiction would like to acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of this country.

We acknowledge them as the original caretakers and knowledge holders.
We acknowledge their intimate relationship and connections to the land, waters, sea and community.

We acknowledge the deep wisdom, Lore and ways of being that have been practiced on this land for thousands of years. The continuation of cultural, spiritual and educational practices of Aboriginal peoples.

We pay our deepest respects to Elders past, present and emerging from a place of humility and gratitude.
Gratitude for country, gratitude for their resilience and gratitude for truth.

Reflecting upon the notion of country offers us an invitation to think about the country we are currently on. What would it have looked like hundreds of years ago? How did the people live in harmony with the land and great spirit? What is our own relationship to country today? Do we have a special place to go and sit, reflect, heal and listen to what country has to teach us? There is opportunity for us to learn from the Traditional Custodians and build our own relationships with the country we are on.
We offer this acknowledgement from deep reflection and respect.
